Beachside Cottages in La Jolla, CA

As We Wake is a Wellness & Oneness Collective located at our beachside property in La Jolla, CA, and accepts ongoing application for team living. Team living is for those who a) have a deep sense of connection to our mission and are interested in helping bring it to life b) have a healthy and adventurous lifestyle c) want to live in community d) are interested in creating deeper self-transcendent connectedness in the world e) love beachside living. Admissions will be determined on a rolling basis, according to availability.

Overview

Our Mission: To connect culture to Interbeing—bringing "Transcendence to the People!"
Personal Home: Each team member enjoys their own 1-bedroom beachside cottage, nestled within a courtyard of 8 cottages. This setup offers the ideal blend of privacy and opportunities for community connection.
Location: Just steps away, La Jolla Cove is one of California’s most scenic wildlife preserves and a world-renowned destination for aquatic activities, dining, sightseeing, and more.
Rent: Rent is $2500+ (discounted for team members from the standard rate of $4,000)
AirBnB During Travels: Team members may rent out their unit via AirBnB anytime, keeping 50% of the income (50% usually is about $125 per night).
Client Referrals: Benefit from the collective energy that brings people into the space, naturally gaining more opportunities for client referrals.
Team Synergy: Benefit from supportive team members helping with logistics, team building, community development, grounds management, and content creation.
Paid Opportunities: As we grow opportunities may emerge for paid work - such as roles for team retreat hosting.
Free Ceremony & Events: Opportunities to join ongoing ceremonies and events hosted by our team for free!
World Travels: Opportunities for travel often arise through As We Wake, such as being part of a retreat hosting team.
Flexibility & Amazingness Guarantee: We guarantee that this will be an absolutely amazing experience for you, with 100% freedom to move on at any point if you are not completely satisfied with your experience.

SAMPLE TEAM ROLES

Ceremony Musician

A talented musician who has experience in the ceremonial space

The ceremony musician’s role will be to bring music into the space of As We Wake and the entheogenic ceremonies. We aim to infuse our community with art, creativity, and music!

Dance Instructor

A conscious dance specialist who facilitates growth through embodiment

The dance instructor’s role will be to bring dance and embodied practices into the space to support post-ceremony integration, and create a culture of embodiment. Let’s move it move it!

Humor Facilitator

An expert in creating personal growth through humor

The humor facilitator’s role will be to support integration and community development through guided humor workshops and practices. Levity is the spice of life!

Ceremony Guide

An entheogenic facilitator who also has deep and well-rounded integration practice

On-site ceremony facilitation of psilocybin, 5-MeO, ayahuasca, or iboga.
The psychedelic facilitator is welcome to provide their own unique approach to ceremony, is supported by As We Wake's legal structure and team, and may use the premises for facilitation purposes.

Nurse Co-Facilitator

A nurse who is experienced in the entheogenic space & holistic wellness

Safety management + nutrition + on-site ceremony co-facilitation of psilocybin, 5-MeO, ayahuasca, or iboga.
The nurse co-facilitator may incorporate unique talents and offerings in collaboration with the psychedelic facilitator.

Holistic Facilitator

Integration through dance, humor, meditation, breathwork, yoga, etc.

Our holistic facilitator will host and co-host retreats, ceremonies, and events that help the community connect to mental, physical, relational, and spiritual health. This could include offerings such as meditation, breathwork, yoga, cold plunge, authentic relating, dance, improv, etc.

Community Builder

A social coordinator who loves hosting events and building community

Building the As We Wake community through hosting mission-aligned events and expanding our network. The community builder will organize potlucks and similar events, keeping track of participants through in-person and digital communication.

Content Creator

A media specialist, talented in short form video and aesthetics

Creating short-form videos & growing our social media accounts through frequent and engaging posts. Successful experience with social media marketing is required (even better if you've worked for wellness-oriented brands). The content creator will promote As We Wake via Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.

Groundskeeper

AirBnB & property manager, talented in communication and customer service

Managing the property & Airbnbs (being available for guests' messages and needs); cooking for the team and our retreat guests; cleaning & decorating the cottages when needed. The groundskeeper will be an integral part of our on-site team, taking care of the cottages and our guests day to day.
